The Bystronic ByTrans Modular can work with one or two lasers, and can be seamlessly integrated with the BySort, ByTower, and ByFlex.It is compatible with the ByStar and BySmart Fiber 3015 and 4020 laser cutting systems, and can be configured into a layout and with other machines for optimal material flow.
The ByTrans Modular is a scalable, fully automated solution that manages the entire material handling process, which can include:

This automated material handling solution can handle every part of the laser material handling process, and can be set up with the specific capabilities needed by the manufacturer.
Raw material input. With a motorized I/O shuttle, the Bystronic ByTrans Modular easily supplies material from a forklift or overhead crane to the ByTower Line storage. The ByTower can store raw material and processed sheets, ensuring efficient and safe material storage.
Automatic loading and unloading. The ByTrans Modular can simultaneously load raw material from a tower cassette and unload processed sheets back to storage. The result is shorter cycle times and less downtime between cutting projects, ensuring that the Bystronic fiber laser is being used at maximum capacity.
Residual sheet management. The ByTrans Modular can reduce material waste by transferring residual sheets back to the tower for later usage.
Residual sheet re-work. The ByTrans Modular can re-work the residual sheet and unload cut sheets in a dedicated cassette.
Big part removal. The ByTrans Modular can automatically separate big cut parts while simultaneously loading raw material. This system can unload big parts after cutting onto one sheet, while unloading remaining sheets on a different storage cassette. All of this can occur while simultaneously loading raw material, ensuring maximum efficiency.
Manual loading and unloading. This system can be built with the ultimate flexibility to ensure parts can be available quickly. With an over/under shuttle, processed sheets can be quickly transferred from the laser to the shuttle so parts can be manually sorted or unloaded with a forklift. For enhanced speed, the ByTrans Modular uses parallel movements to shorten cycle times.
Part sorting. When the BySort is integrated into the system, cut parts can automatically be sorted and transferred either to the floor and/or to the tower cassette. The parts that are moved to the floor can be placed on a pallet for easy removal with a forklift. Parts can also be sent back into the tower, ensuring continuous operation that can even continue throughout the night.
If for some reason parts can’t be sorted, the system can move on to the next sorting job and try again later. When parts can’t be sorted, they are loaded onto a special cassette and moved back into storage to ensure that parts are not combined or mixed up, reducing the chance of errors later.
Skeleton sheet transfer. As or after parts are sorted (including big parts), the remaining skeleton is unloaded onto a dedicated cassette. This ensures that skeletons are not stored with sorted parts.
Cut sheet to I/O shuttle for easy cassette unloading. This capability gives manufactures an easy material transfer when the elevator moves the cassette with cut parts to the I/O shuttle. The cut parts are then available on the I/O shuttle where they can be easily removed with a forklift.
